Rough White Deal is a softwood timber and it is light in color, generally pale yellow to creamy white, has a straight, uniform grain with a relatively smooth texture. Supplied in an unplaned, sawn state, it retains a rough surface, making it ideal for structural and framing purposes where a fine finish is not required.
Builders and carpenters frequently use rough white deal for general construction work, temporary supports, formwork, stud partitions, and internal framing due to its affordability, workability, and availability in a wide range of sizes. While not typically used for decorative applications, it can be planed and finished if needed.
